The official launch of Oxhyd Energy S.L. marks a major milestone for advanced solid oxide technologies developed within the HYP3D project.
Oxhyd, a spin-off of the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) and the Catalan Institution of Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), brings to market the technological foundations built through HYP3D: high-performance solid oxide ceramic devices manufactured via advanced 3D printing.
HYP3D was conceived to overcome key barriers in solid oxide technologies:
- Limited power density
- High material consumption
- Complex and costly manufacturing routes
- Scalability constraints
Through additive manufacturing of ceramic components, HYP3D has enabled:
- Optimised cell geometries
- Reduced material usage
- Enhanced power density
- Manufacturing simplification
- Monolithic and highly integrated architectures
The creation of Oxhyd demonstrates how long-term research efforts under HYP3D translate into tangible industrial impact.
HYP3D continues advancing next-generation solid oxide architectures, reinforcing its mission to enable efficient, scalable and economically viable hydrogen systems.
More updates coming soon.
